Pousada da Terra offers a wonderful location, albeit difficult to reach by Bus. Though they more then make up for it with comfort, service, personality and value for money. |

Santa Marina is an authentic colonial farm from Minas Gerais, with history and tradition. A special place for whoever wants tranquility and rest. Located at an altitude of 1.100 meters, there are 375hectacres consisting of the Atlantic Rainforest reserve, pastures, waterfalls, flora and fauna exuberantly preserved. The main farm house is a beautiful construction from the beginning of the 19th century, acquired by the Bernardi Capistrano family in 1967. The colonial mansion was restored, new surroundings were constructed and carefully decorated with items from the period, belonging to the family estate. In 2002, Santa Marina opened its doors to become a Guest Farm. |

Posted in Uncategorized on 07/17/2009 04:36 pm by admin
Needing to work on my conversational Brazilian Portuguese, I went straight for the language sections of Podcasts found on iTunes. I’ve given 3 or 4 a try now and I like the pace and length of 1 in particular named Falatalk. What strikes me as unique is the Explicit tag listed on each Falatalk Podcast Episode, to be honest after listening to more then a handful of the Podcasts I could not pick out 1 bad word. Maybe they use the “Explicit” tag just in case. Find it here yourself. Narrated by Sean Ragsdale and a handful of “friends” whom all seem to be nice sounding young Brazilian women.
I like the short and direct format of the podcast, you get a few minutes of specific conversational Portugese based on some context, going out with friends, medical needs, and so on. I find it very helpful to work on my accent, you can actually hear the English word with the Portuguese word said in conversation. This helps me piece together sentances much better then the traditional parrot style call and responce of a single word.
Nice Work Sean, Keep it up.
