While luxury is always at the forefront the experience our first hand reviewers prefer Pousadas who have thoughtful approaches to art, design, culture and technology within their accommodations.
BrazilianPousada.com never takes money for reviews or featured placement and to be review we require an in-person stay at each selected property. All of our content is editorially based using the standard of “places we like.” Published exclusively online as a personal catalog and reference tool, the site today attracts and inspires travelers from North America and around the world.
BrazilianPousada.com offer’s its readers and Pousada owners a simple 5 star rating system. Our 5 stars are different, others base their rating on amenities, while we base our rating on the over all experience, service and quality of the accommodations. This means a Pousada with one of a kind rustic charm, welcoming owners and great food might be rated higher then a Pousada with a Pool – and while i-pod docking stations are nice, we might actually prefer a collection of Bossa Nova and Brazilian-jazz records.

4 Stars acknowledges the levels of comfort and hospitality of a fine accommodation, but falls just short of “perfection”

3 Stars is what we consider a standard level of comfort for an experienced traveler.
2 Stars
2 Stars are awarded to a Pousada that fails to meet higher expectations. This might be due to the condition of the accommodation, lack of important amenities or unavailable service.

We rarely give any accommodations a single star, we don’t even like to rate a Pousada with our lowest rating. But we hope that our readers can appreciate the lengths we go through to make sure they have honest first hand reviews to help them plan their stay at the nicest possible places.
